So Long Shaka..Hello Seattle!

The great part about this whole journey is that there are no really big leaving pains because we know we are just moving to the next new and exciting place.  We have enjoyed climbing in skaha and just hanging out in penticton.  Last night we had a lovely chicken dinner overlooking the lake right next to a beautiful pier then went for a little stroll along the shore.  The weather was a balmy 24 degrees with a subtle breeze to keep things fresh.  We have thoroughly enjoyed having no schedule and just waking up..doing some yoga..and heading to the crag.  We have probably had the most laughs at our "hippy moments" like having an invigorating bath in lake skaha (jeff needed some convincing to get in, he didnt mind his stank..but I did)...and walking into starbucks with 5 empty waterbottles and face wash.  I have mostly appreciated the times where I become so greatful and humble for the lives we live and the ABUNDANCE of things we take for granted...thats not to say that I havent loved every minute of..."roughing it".  Now we are just about to get on the road to seattle and live the high life..we miss everyone and hope all is well!

Living the dream...so far

We arrived safe and sound in kelowna friday night and were welcomed into the Draper's home for a good nights sleep.  In the morning we woke up and it hit both Jeff and I that we were actually on our trip..it felt like we just planned and anticipated it for so many months. So to actually be on the road and start the whole shabbam feels pretty surreal. Day 1 of climbing was..well kind of discouraging to start because the grades of the climbs are a bit harder and we had to adjust to the rock.  Near the end of the day we were climbing 11 b's and feeling pretty confident.  After we went and binged at boston pizza..and felt great about it too.  Day 2 was fan-freaking-tabulous. We woke up to the sound of loose cows where we were camping and then did our morning yoga to the view of the okanogan...it gave us some pretty good laughs at Jeff and I's flexibility(or lack of). After we chilled in a park right by the lake and read our books and ate some good eats.  We headed to the crag, the day was perfect to climb, sun was hot (but of course we were climbing in the shade), just a little bit of a breeze, and we cranked on some hard routes with some really fun people we met. The best route we did was an 11d that was relatively steep and had a very fun but pumpy sequence to follow.  We hiked out at dusk and had a romantic dinner in the parking lot of save on foods because we couldnt wait to get to our campsite to eat. After we hung out at starbucks and reminissed about a great start to the trip.  We will climb tomorrow and then on tuesday we will head to seattle.  We hope everyone at home is having fun..Jeff and I are enjoying every minute and have had many good times and big laughs already and are super excited and greatful that we get to do this for the next 2 months!
